At the Menopause Clinic, we offer specialized consultations built around listening, clear information, and truly personalized guidance. Every woman is unique, which is why we take the time to look at your situation as a whole : Your medical history, lifestyle expectations and personal preferences.
Menopause consultation: Expert Guidance and Personalized Care
Your visit begins with an appointment with one of our clinic coordinators. During this first conversation, a thorough medical history is taken, covering your personal and family background as well as any relevant risk factors. We will also ask for recent gynecological test results (such as your Pap smear or ultrasound) and, where applicable, your most recent mammogram or bone density scan.
We take the time to listen carefully to your symptoms, concerns, and questions. The coordinator will help you better understand the changes and discomforts that may be linked to peri‑ or menopause.
You will receive personalized advice, including lifestyle and nutrition guidance (such as calcium and vitamin D intake), sleep hygiene strategies, and natural or non‑medicinal approaches that may help improve your well‑being.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may also be discussed. The coordinator can explain how it works and what it entails but is not authorized to prescribe hormonal treatment.
If you wish, you can schedule an appointment with a gynecologist specializing in menopause. Together, you can assess whether hormone therapy is appropriate and safe in your particular situation. Hormonal treatment can only be prescribed after this specialist consultation.
Our goal is to provide clear, up‑to‑date, and unbiased information, so you can make a well‑informed decision that aligns with your needs and in partnership with a qualified healthcare professional.

Raising awareness about (peri)menopause has never been more important
Many symptoms related to peri‑ and menopause are still overlooked or misunderstood. In Flanders, growing awareness and the gradual breaking of taboos mean that more women understand how this stage of life can affect their overall well‑being. In the Brussels region, however, there is still a clear need for better information and recognition around these issues.
Misconceptions about hormone replacement therapy (HRT) also remain widespread. Hormones are often labeled as “dangerous,” or assumed to automatically increase cancer risk. These outdated beliefs discourage many women from considering a treatment option that can be highly effective.
Women deserve access to clear, accurate, and science‑based information. With the right guidance, and as long as no medical contraindications are present, they can make an informed, confident decision with their doctor about whether hormonal treatment might be appropriate to relieve bothersome symptoms.
